Machame route is the best route in Kilimanjaro Mountain, Most of the clients choose this as for hiking trail. Machame is the village of the Chagga people surrounding this national park. It will take us 1 hour from Moshi and 1 hour to 30min from Arusha to reach Machame gate.
A nickname for this route is whiskey route, why? Compared to the Marangu route, this route offers a wide variety of landscapes, views, and experiences. The weather and vegetation of this route are so friendly and tough you experience after finishing your adventures you can feel like you are drinking a shorts of whiskey in your body. This trail offers tent accommodation at each camp. The minimum days its six days and the maximum days its seven days, depending on what you like to choose, and success in reaching the top its 88%.
Upon your arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) or Arusha Airport, a Banziadventure representative will warmly greet you. You will be transferred to your pre-booked hotel where you can relax and freshen up. In the evening, there will be a comprehensive briefing about your upcoming Kilimanjaro hike. This session will cover details about the Machame route, usage of hiking gear, packing tips, and a checklist for first aid and medical kits.
After breakfast at your hotel, your guides will pick you up and drive to Machame Gate (1,800m a.s.l.). Here, after obtaining necessary permits, your trek officially begins. You will ascend through a stunning forest zone, encountering diverse flora and fauna along the way, until you reach Machame Camp (2,835m a.s.l.).
You will wake up to a morning call with coffee or tea, followed by breakfast and preparations for the day’s hike. The trail ascends through the heather and moorland zone to Shira Cave (3,750m a.s.l.), where you will enjoy a hot lunch. Acclimatization walks will be conducted in the afternoon to nearby landmarks before dinner.
Today is dedicated to acclimatization. After breakfast, you will hike to Lava Tower (4,600m a.s.l.) and then descend to Barranco Camp (3,950m a.s.l.). This strategic ascent and descent aids in acclimatization.
Early morning, wake-up call with tea or coffee, followed by breakfast. You’ll conquer the Barranco Wall and hike through the heather and moorland zone to Karanga Camp. After lunch and replenishing water supplies, continue to Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt.
Today marks the summit day. Begin the ascent to Uhuru Peak around midnight, reaching the summit after 7-8 hours of challenging trekking. Celebrate briefly at the summit before descending to Mweka Camp (3,100m a.s.l.) for a well-deserved rest.
After breakfast, descend to Mweka Gate where you will receive your well-earned Golden Certificate. Meet with your crew for a farewell ceremony, sharing experiences, and offering tips. Transfer back to your hotel in Moshi or Arusha for a celebratory hot shower and refreshing drinks.
You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport according to your flight schedule, marking the end of your Kilimanjaro adventure with Banziadventure.
